There are many different property types in Whistler. Here are some brief descriptions that will help you decide what type of property is right for you. Residential This is the most common type of property in Whistler/Pemberton/Squamish. They come in all shapes and sizes such as; Single family homes, Vacant Lots, Townhomes, Duplex or Triplex Units and Condominiums. They are found throughout the Valley and will vary in price depending on size, location, quality & amenities. Residential properties can be occupied full or part time by the owners or rented out on a monthly basis to generate income for the owner. Some properties also contain rental or nanny suites and offer the owner added flexibility of usage. Phase 1 Found mainly in Whistler Village and Whistler’s Creekside, these properties can be used like a Residential property but with the added flexibility of Nightly or Short Term Rental Zoning. There are additional fees and GST and Property Tax implications that may apply to this type of ownership. Mainly condominium units, with the look and feel of a hotel. Like Phase 1 properties, these properties are zoned for Nightly Rentals, however the Phase 2 Covenant restricts the owner to certain occupancy limits. Bed & Breakfasts/Pensions Throughout Whsiter/Pemberton/Squamish, there are a number of properties that feature B&B or Pension Zoning.
